Back to School in Dior Homme Autumn 2015 Part 1
It's September - and Summer, apparently, is over. The fact that another Summer has, yet again, flown by shouldn't be a shocker to anyone anymore. Every beginning of July, I tell myself to remember the very start because it's all over before I know it. And hence most are back at school. So what better way to share more on Dior Homme's Autumn Collection.
Continuing the theme from my previous post on the Dior Homme's Autumn Collection, I've decided to shoot a few looks at my previous studio shoot. And this is Part 1 of my two-series post. The whole collegiate style is really perfected in its stripe, knitted ribbed edging which is further accessorised with a black, leather backpack. Extremely, unforgivingly preppy.
Though this subculture has become a lesser popular trend, Dior has updated this attire for the new collection. I've been out and about in Hong Kong and recently even discovered this whole street that sells this collegiate style on the quiet St. Francis Street behind Three Pacific Place. The whole craze about this era is the aspiration to be a perfected, well-educated and well-connected individual. To dress preppy meant being successful and socially elite. Though Dior's take is not 'all about being British' nor is it selling the American dream. Rather it is about looking back at this trend - a memorial-esque take. No rugby shirts, jacquard polos nor light-coloured plaid shirts. More casual but still refined.
